Chimera Theatre is bringing mythical physical theatre to the 30th Victoria Fringe Festival with Perseus & Andromeda, a newly created movement show based on a nearly two thousand year old lost Greek play by Euripides.
Perseus is a hero on a mission from the gods. Andromeda is a princess chained to a rock to be sacrificed to a sea monster. How will their story unfold? This myth was staged by Euripides, the ancient Greek playwright, but over the millennia the script has been lost and fragmented. Chimera Theatre takes the fragments of this story and brings it to life for today’s audiences through movement, music, acrobatics, and dance.
Pay-What-You-Can Preview performances will take place in Kamloops, BC at the Actors Workshop Theatre (900 McGill Road) at 7:00 pm on August 12th and 13th.
